Hello! I’m Severine Menem, a registered Nutritional Therapist and Health Coach for women over 40 struggling with weight loss and menopause symptoms. I'm also a Menopause Trainer for Financial Services organisations looking to establish menopause initiatives and support their female talents going through the menopause.
As a woman in my mid-40s, I know first hand the realities of the perimenopausal years (the years leading to the menopause), where your body starts feeling out of control.
After years of being fit and healthy, I suddenly started to experience weight gain, bloating, anxiety, joint pain, dry eyes, and night sweats!
These symptoms came out of nowhere and I couldn't explain them. Truth is they are common symptoms associated with perimenopause and menopause, and the real culprit is natural hormonal shifts.
By making specific dietary and lifestyle changes, I improved (or removed) these symptoms, without having to resort to HRT and medication. It was truly mind-blowing!
I am now on a mission to help other women manage their menopause symptoms naturally, with personalised nutrition and lifestyle advice, and a little help of supplementation.
Disclaimer. Not all women will be able to fully manage their menopause symptoms holistically. Still, improving diet and lifestyle will help with the intensity and frequency of most symptoms. Also taking HRT is not a free pass to an unhealthy lifestyle.
Also my story: burnout & hypothyroidism
Just like you, I was a successful, driven career woman. I set goals and achieved them at all costs, taking my health for granted and ignoring the signs: weight gain, exhaustion, depression.
Then one day I burned out, mentally and physically. I was in my mid-30s.
Realising that no amount of career, success or money was worth losing my health, I resigned from a successful career in the finance industry to prioritise my physical and mental health.
Being diagnosed with hypothyroidism shortly after that was an eye-opener, and my perspective shifted entirely: from losing weight to look good, to making the best recovery possible.
I followed medical advice and took thyroid hormones. They only helped marginally. I then turned to experimenting food and lifestyle changes to assess whether it could make a difference.
The results amazed me: within three years of starting these changes, I managed to bring back my thyroid hormones to normal levels, and I no longer needed thyroid medication, and haven't needed it since. Doctors never mentioned it was possible, but it surely is.
Discovering the power of foods and lifestyle, I decided to retrain in naturopathic nutrition with a keen desire to help other women use nutrition to help manage the symptoms of their chronic conditions.

She knows for the woman in the midst of the changing hormonal landscape, no one-fits-all solution makes a significant or lasting impact. She applies an individualised, natural approach using nutrition and lifestyle to realign the body’s imbalances which results in natural weight loss and thriving health.
Severine is a member of the BMS (British Menopause Society). She holds a Diploma in Naturopathic Nutrition from CNM (College of Naturopathic Medicine), is a member of BANT (British Association of Nutritional Therapists), and registered with CNHC (Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council). She holds as Diploma in Coaching and NLP recognised by the ICF (International Coach Federation), and a Diploma in Personal Training (level 3).
She lives in London with her husband Marc and her son Theo. Influenced by her French heritage, she loves cooking tasty meals and experimenting with new foods. Passionate about traveling the world, Severine is curious to try new cuisines and specialties, her most memorable being guinea pig in Peru, shark in Australia, bison in the United States, and reindeer in Sweden.
